Making EHDS Secondary Use Work in Practice
Vivli Europe is an independent European non-profit, supporting the responsible secondary use of health data across borders. We develop practical, scalable solutions for international health data holders navigating the European Health Data Space (EHDS).

What We Do
Supporting EHDS Readiness
We work with industry and academic health data holders to understand emerging requirements, strengthen operational readiness and develop practical approaches to EHDS implementation.
Enabling Cross-Border Collaboration
We are developing coordinated operational models to support international data holders and facilitate efficient secondary use of health data across European jurisdictions.
Building on Trusted Data-Sharing Expertise
We draw on Vivli’s established experience in clinical research data governance, secure access and responsible data reuse to inform future EHDS-aligned solutions.

A New Era for Health Data in Europe
Preparing for EHDS Secondary Use
The European Health Data Space (EHDS) entered into force in March 2025, with secondary use provisions applying in March 2029.
By establishing a common European framework for secondary use, the EHDS creates new opportunities for international collaboration, scientific discovery and the generation of evidence that can improve health outcomes.
Realising this potential requires organisations across the European health data ecosystem to prepare for new requirements and develop effective ways of working together.
Vivli Europe is helping turn this opportunity into practical solutions.
Building on Vivli’s established experience in global clinical research data sharing, we are working with stakeholders across Europe to develop trusted, coordinated and scalable approaches to secondary use.

Collaboration at the Heart of Implementation
Successful implementation of the EHDS will bring together European institutions, national authorities, international health data holders, research organisations and technology partners.
Vivli Europe actively engages across this ecosystem to exchange expertise, identify shared operational needs and contribute practical experience to the development of effective secondary-use arrangements.
Through strategic engagement, stakeholder forums and collaborative initiatives, we are helping organisations prepare for the EHDS and supporting the development of sustainable approaches to cross-border health data access.

EHDS Readiness Forums
Shaping Practical Solutions Together
Our EHDS Readiness Forums bring together industry and academic health data holders to explore implementation requirements, share experience and contribute to practical solutions.
These collaborative discussions provide a valuable opportunity for organisations to prepare for the EHDS, develop common approaches and contribute insights to wider European implementation activities.
